Music icon Joni Mitchell is heading to Hollywood.
The nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter, 80, announced Tuesday that she will be performing for one night only at the Hollywood Bowl this fall. It will be her first time headlining a show in Los Angeles in more than two decades. Mitchell will be joined by Brandi Carlile and the Joni Jam for the concert on Oct. 19.
The concert announcement comes after the "Big Yellow Taxi" singer's return to the stage in recent years.
Mitchell surprised fans by joining Carlile's set at the Newport Folk Festival in 2022 and again at the Hollywood Bowl in October 2023, sang at the 2022 MusiCares Person Of The Year benefit gala honoring her work, played a set during the Library of Congress' Gershwin Prize concert in March 2023, and in June 2023, she hosted her first ticketed event in 20 years, a "Joni Jam" at the Gorge Amphitheater in Quincy, Washington.
On Sunday, Mitchell − who in 2015 experienced a brain aneurysm that temporarily left her unable to walk or talk − will perform for the first time at the 66th annual Grammy Awards, where she is nominated for best folk album.
